Social Stays - Santa Barbara'S First Hostel On State Street
I picked up a free beach cruiser from the garage and rode to the beach just one block away. My studio featured a full kitchen where I brewed fresh coffee from the Santa Barbara Roasting company each morning. I relaxed in the courtyard among the lemon trees and flowers, sitting on a mosaic table while the boughs above were lit at night.

Sunset views on the deck
I watched the sunset from the rooftop deck after a long day in downtown Santa Barbara. My two-bedroom apartment had a separate thermostat in each room, so I adjusted the temperature exactly to my liking. I brewed coffee in the kitchen before I walked to the local shops.
I stayed in a private cottage with a kitchen and separate living space during my four nights. I walked to State Street for meals while enjoying the quiet residential setting. Each evening I ate handmade cookies, and I started my days with home-cooked breakfast served in the garden. I appreciated the texting app which I used to communicate with the staff during my visit.
I sat on my private veranda overlooking the gardens each afternoon to eat the cookies and scones brought out by the staff. My room featured a beverage center with a faucet that dispensed filtered water. After I finished my morning coffee, I walked to State Street for the local shops and restaurants. These grounds offered a quiet escape from the busy downtown area while I enjoyed the evening hors d'oeuvres and wine.

Underground lot for easy vehicle access
I parked my car in the underground lot and took the elevator directly up to my room. Each unit featured a full kitchen with a fridge and microwave, along with a Nespresso machine for morning coffee. I enjoyed the mountain views from my balcony after walking a few blocks from State Street. The building also provided access to a washer and dryer for my convenience.
I parked my car in the back lot and charged it at the EV chargers while I walked to State Street. My unit had a functional kitchenette with a Nespresso machine and washer and dryer inside. Everything was super clean, and the contactless check-in using a keypad was seamless throughout my stay.
I lounged on the rooftop terrace to watch the sunset over the mountains after parking my car in the free, covered lot on site. My unit featured a fully equipped kitchenette where I prepared meals with vegetables from the Tuesday Farmers Market. I walked to State Street in six minutes, though I found the automated shades over my bed and the skylight especially relaxing for a quiet sleep.
I watched movies on the Samsung Frame TV in my unit. The Pottery Barn finishes gave a polished look to the spacewith linens atop the bed.

Bikes parked at the front
We took the free bikes out for a ride along the ocean bike paths both days of our trip. Since our room had ground-level access, we parked our car right in front of our door. I grabbed hot coffee and pastries from the lobby breakfast spread each morning, which we carried back to our room on provided trays.

A hot towel rack for warmth
I used the heated towel rack in my room after returning from the beach. I also sat by the fire pit on the back patio with the beach chairs provided in the studio. Sara left a welcome package for me upon arrival.
We plugged our car into the EV charger while we rested in the two-bedroom apartment-style unit. I made morning coffee with the Nespresso machine and slept under the blackout curtains in the quiet, historic space.
